Cranberry Sauce

Every year I try a new cranberry sauce recipe for Thanksgiving.  This year I went with Michael Symon’s version with cranberries, orange, ginger, bourbon, and vanilla beans.  AWESOME!

Friday morning on Facebook I saw the most amazing use for leftover homemade cranberry sauce – mix a spoon full of cranberry sauce with some vodka, strain and serve over ice.  I tried it Friday evening and OH MY GOODNESS what a great idea.   The tartness of the cranberries, the sweetness of the orange, the spice of the ginger and the luscious notes of vanilla are perfect in vodka.

Just another idea on how to use up those Thanksgiving leftovers, enjoy!
