So I have a bit of Halloween candy left and while I will take most of it into work (thank goodness for college students!) I wanted to make a dessert for dinner on Sunday and figured I should use up some of the leftover candy.
I used a recipe from the Chocolate Chocolate Cookbook by Lisa Yockelson, but instead of only using peanut butter cups, I would add a combination of peanut butter cups and kit kats.
It is a really easy recipe that comes together in minutes. I added some semi sweet chocolate chips to the mix, because you can never have enough chocolate, and topped it with more diced candy bars. Here is what it looked like before it went into the oven.
I like this recipe for a couple of reasons – it has peanut butter and chocolate, it bakes in an 8 x 8 pan – perfect for a family of two, it can be served warm – the chocolate and peanut butter are still oozing, melty goodness – making it a great dessert to serve when you have unexpected company, and it makes the house smell amazing.
Yum, yum, YUM! What are you doing with your leftover Halloween candy?
