Thankfully, we get more and more veggies out of the garden every day. I used some of our green peppers for dinner. The hubby loves pasta, peppers/onions, and sausage. We tend to eat it year round, but it is especially nice when we have peppers from our garden.
We didn’t have enough green peppers, so I picked up a yellow and red one from the farm stand. I made a quick batch of Marcella Hazan’s tomato sauce and grabbed a package of hot italian sausage from the store. The onions and peppers along with the sausage were cooked outside. I made the sauce and pasta instead. Lucky for us, the weather held out so we could eat outside.
Can I just say, Marcella Hazan’s recipe for tomato sauce is AWESOME, light, luscious, and absolutely delicious. It takes 3 ingredients and 30 minutes from start to finish. I always have the ingredients on hand. If you are looking for a simple sauce, please consider making it, you will thank me….and HER!
