Savory Cheesecake

One of our dear friends has a child who has graduated from high school, whoo hooo!  They are throwing a party to celebrate today and I thought I would make a savory cheesecake to bring along.

Savory cheesecakes are an awesome party appetizer.  They need to be made ahead, freeing you up for the rest of your last-minute prep work.

Yesterday I searched for some recipes online to find one that would appeal to a wide range of palates. I found this recipe on the Taste of Home site http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/Savory-BLT-Cheesecake  because truly, who doesn’t like bacon, lettuce and tomato!  Nothing says summer to me like a tomato sandwich, add bacon and lettuce and hello awesome lunch!

The crust was so easy, grated parmesan cheese, bread crumbs and butter.

Next up, the cheesecake filing.  Fairly straight forward, cream the cheese, add the flavoring agents, mix in the eggs and ta da! cheesecake filing

The recipe calls for garnishing with additional crumbled bacon, sliced cherry tomatoes and shredded iceburg lettuce.  I am so excited to try this cheesecake today.  Hopefully it is as good as the others I have made in the past.  Wish me luck!
